Epoxy Lightprimer 5:1

This is a multifunctional paint that protects, enhances adhesion, and also protects against osmosis. Lightprimer is recommended for protecting surfaces both above and below the waterline.

The primer is primarily designed for laminate surfaces, but it can also be used on boat surfaces made of materials such as wood, steel, and aluminum.

  • Provides a transition layer between different systems and increases adhesion between the layers.
  • Provides antiosmotic protection in 4 layers (250 um).
  • Good flow gives a perfect finish.
  • Easy to mix and apply.
  • Caution: does not drip from vertical surfaces.
  • Cans include components and room for mixing them.
  • Package contains a cup and scale for easy dosing of components.
  • Easy to dispense; includes curing box and cork.
  • First layer: raw surface, epoxy or polyester filler, epoxy primers, paint cleaned prior.
  • Second layer: epoxy primer, polyurethane topcoat, antifouling paints.
  • Does not require sanding between coats while maintaining the suggested time interval.

    Can I mix polyurethane paints to get a different color?

    Yes, you can mix Sea-Line polyurethane paints. The only difference are the pigments of polyurethane paints that determine the color of the paint. But remember to keep the right proportions of base, hardener and thinner.

    Why does the paint have no adhesion?

    Possible causes

    • Wrong surface preparation,
    • Skipping the primer in the system application process,
    • Use of universal thinners or replacements ,
    • Paint incompatibility.

    How to prevent

    • Correct surface preparation (grinding, clearing, degreasing),
    • Use primers which improve adhesion of paints,
    • Use thinners which are dedicated to each paints,
    • Use of paints which are compatible to each other.

    How to remove

    • Grind, clean and paint again.

    Why the paint does not have the right flow?

    Possible causes

    • No thinning, wrong thinner or wrong amount of thinner
    • Wrong type of roll or brush (wrong bristle lenght)
    • Applying too much or too Little paint,
    • During painting process temperature was too high or the air was too dry,
    • Incorrect preparation of too porous surface,
    • Incorrect proportion of thinner.

    How to prevent

    • Use a brush/Toller suited to the type of surface or paint,
    • Use thinner which is dedicated to the type of application and paints
    • Use thinning proportions which was indicated by manufacturer,
    • Paint in right atmosphere conditions indicated by manufacturer,

    How to remove

    • Grind, clean and paint again.
